The Name of Jesus - Matthew 1:21
Jesus is the most appropriate name that our Lord could receive.
The Father knowing all about Jesus named Him well.
The Father knew much more about the Lord Jesus Christ that all saints and angels put together,
for "No man knoweth the Son but the Father."
God, the Father, calls Jesus, a Saviour.
Jesus is the Saviour because He saves.
The salvation that Jesus gives is not temporary or common.

The Heredity of Jesus - Matthew 1
Jesus' genealogy had a few black spots in it, but Jesus didn't ask His biographers to hide them.
He was not ashamed to make public His human pedigree, and this suggests that He will never be
ashamed of His present or future family tree, which includes you and me.
The fact that He did not seek to erase some of the names from His genealogy is proof
that He is not interested in erasing our names from the Book of Life, just because we are not perfect.
So, we must not think that we are too bad for Jesus to accept us into his family, or to publicly admit
His relationship to us.
Jesus' genealogy appears in two places.
We find it in Matthew 1: 1-17, and in Luke 3: 23-38.
The two lists are not the same.
Luke traced Jesus' family through Mary.
Matthew traced it through Joseph.

Everything we need, we have in Christ.

Jesus Lives! - Matthew 28:1-10
On the third day He rose victorious over death and sin!
He is both Saviour and King!
They couldn't make the tomb strong and secure enough to stop Him rising!
The earthquake and the angel only confirmed that He was already alive from the dead!
The guards and the women were just doing their duty.
They were following the routines set down for them by generations of custom and practice.
But in the course of doing their duty, this great extraordinary event unexpected had interrupted
their routine.
The guards found that they were guarding an empty tomb, and the women found that
their embalming spices were unnecessary!

A Living Saviour - Acts 2:22-26
The greatest news the world has ever heard is that the tomb is empty!
Christ has risen from the dead.
Jesus demonstrated His great power over death.
Easter is about His victory over sin and death and hell.
Easter is about the sacrifice that the Son of God made on our behalf.
A generation of young people, even young adults, do not know anything of sacrifice.
They know about inconvenience, but a very, very few know about sacrifice.
When we talk about the sacrifice of Jesus, they have no clue what that means.

“I Am The Bread Of Life!" - John 6: 35,51
When Jesus performed the miracle of the loaves and fishes, declaring that He was the bread
sent down from heaven, those who had heard Jesus and had eaten the food He miraculously provided
were profoundly impressed.
It is significant that this miracle occurred during the Passover season.
It was not Moses who had given their forefathers manna in the wilderness, but it was God Himself,
Jesus had pointed out -- "... My Father giveth you the true bread from heaven."

Today, we all too often rely on people, organizations, or governments as our sources of supply.
We even short-sightedly think we provide for ourselves by our own labor and resources,

An Unwanted Saviour - John 1:11
From day one, man's sword was drawn ready to kill Him.
Mankind didn't want Jesus then, and Jesus is not wanted now.
There was no room for Jesus then, and there is no room for Him now.
Bethlehem didn't want Him then, and it doesn't want Him now.
Our country doesn't want Him either.
He is not wanted by government. He is not welcomed in our public schools.
He is not welcomed in our businesses.
And, if the truth was know, He is not wanted in many of our churches.

The Greatest Gift - John 3:16,18
We are not always happy with the gifts we get for Christmas.
Every year most of us end up exchanging some items, either because they didn't fit
or we didn't need them.
Sometimes we return items because they just don't work.
No one ever regrets receiving the Greatest Gift.

Today many preachers must have large congregations.
Not many today are interested in witnessing to just one person.
Today, everything must be spectacular with bands and orchestras, or else there is no reason
to expect people to be interested in spiritual matters.
We must pray to be concerned with the value of a single soul.
In the heat of the day, the Lord Jesus found rest and refreshment in speaking to a woman
whom many would not even look upon.
If they did look upon her, it would be with eyes of scorn.

Christ is the only door!

There is a vast difference between a door and the door.
There is only one door into God's fold, and that door is Christ.

All of us need an authority.
The freer we are, the greater the need for discipline.

An authority that can issue benevolent promises with ability and the will to fulfill them is one

The promise of His return (verse 11) is beyond any words we could ever say to describe
that great event.
The angelic visitors are saying that at a point in time and place, Jesus will again break
from that other world into this world of time and history.

Jesus Christ is the everlasting source of eternal salvation.
Only Jesus can break the power which holds man in chains of death.
Only Jesus can avert the punishment which threatens all those who are without Christ.
Only Jesus can open the fountains of grace to all who are still in their sin.
Through Christ the law is vindicated, the holiness of God is honored, and mercy is offered to all
because "Christ receiveth sinful men."

Jesus Is Greater - Matthew 12:43
"And Solomon's provision for one day was 30 measures of fine flour; threescore measures of meal;
10 fat oxen; 20 oxen out of the pastures; 100 sheep, beside harts, roebucks, fallowdeer,
and fatted fowl. For He had dominion over all the region..."
But with all the abundance Solomon had; he could not, as Jesus take 5 loaves and 2 small fish
and feed 5,000 hungry men besides women and children.
Solomon could not, as Jesus, change water into wine.
Solomon could not touch his fingers to the eyes of a blind man and say,
"Receive your sight!" But Jesus did!
Solomon could not touch dead eardrums and make them hear again, but Jesus did.
Solomon could not make the speechless speak again, but Jesus did.
Solomon could not with all his power bring health to the sick, but Jesus did...
Solomon with all his knowledge of men could not provide forgiveness for sin, but Jesus does.
"The Son of Man hath power on earth to forgive sins."

Christ’s Great Compassion - Matthew 14:14
When He saw the multitude, He had compassion on them and healed their sick.
He is ready to bring healing to those who are sick of soul.
There is no burden so heavy that He cannot lift.
There is no heartache that He cannot heal.
He will have compassion on you in your need if you will allow Him.
I want to you to picture in your mind that great multitude on which Jesus had compassion.
